If any of the banner ads at this address above do not match the tastes of this content, please realize that not all web hosts currently serving as mirros have been carefully reviewed before I had signed up with the host. Per the terms of service of such web hosts, which I intend to honor (which is why sites allowing adult content were used for hosting), I do not plan to make any alterations to the alterations the host makes in displaying the pages. On the other hand, if the banner ads do match this content and you find them interesting, then the advertising-based system that lets this page be hosted on an ad-server is working as designed.

Requests

Please do not (for the time being) link directly to the files on this site, (including this page) other than the site's main HTML file, for multiple reasons:
- To honor the request made of this site's webmaster, which is what the creator of the Patchin' Batch would like.
- The files are subject to be replaced or to be moved. The link may become invalid.
- At least one web host had is or has been used requires that people are directed to a main page that serves as a "warning" about possible nudity and/or "adult-oriented" (a.k.a. sexual) content. At least one web host that has been considered (and perhaps used) discusses automatic redirection, and so I do not intend to use any of that. I do not wish to have this site be terminated over this issue, so please just link to the main page if you're wishing to link to any of the content. (I do realize that the batch file may link directly to files, and the batch file is therefore subject to be updated if the files move. However, as long as people visit the main page each time they get the batch file, and assuming that most people do not download the files more than once, then there won't be a disproportionate amount of downloads compared to visitors to the main page, which might be forbidden by some web hosts that this page has considered using and/or actually used.)

Depending on where this page is located, this website and its contents may be deleted after some number of days (14? 30? 60?) of this site not being updated and/or accessed. If anyone wishes to host my release on their site, please let me know, as I am currently seeking more mirrors. In order to contact me, for the time being, I am reviewing the thread on Allakhazam so I'll be alerted of any private message there.
If anybody knows of a host location I can freely use for this page and/or its files (a public free host, or a private host site/directory made for me), please let me know, as I am interested in additional mirrors. The criteria I require is that it be legal: I do not intend to illegitimately take advantage of those generous enough to provide free services but who reasonably (possibly due to legal, moral, or simply bandwidth concerns) prohibit adult material. Likewise, if a host says that it only allows *.jpg files then I am not planning to mask my Zip files as being *.jpg files. The hosts must be free (for me... I'm not feeling any obligation to pay for the distribution of these files), and also allow files of any type (especially *.zip files), and preferably would be one that will not be quick to delete a site if it becomes inactive, and preferably one that allows files of any size (at least 5MB would be nice).
I do not intend to violate the rules placed on me by a host. Therefore, from what I can tell, RapidShare.DE is out, despite its apparent stability so far from files linked to from the Allakhazam forum thread.
Installer maker. If someone could make a very small Installer, then I think people would be appreciative. The installer would extract files from itself and would:
- Be as small as possible: It's a simple program, no reason not to.
- Locate World of WarCraft.
- Extract GoGet.Bat and WGet.Exe to the appropraite spots.
- Delete GoInst.BTM if the file date is older than the installer that is being run.
- Search for COMMAND.Com and run COMMAND.COM /E:32768 GoGet.Bat
- If that's not possible, just run GoGet.Bat
The Installer-maker should be willing to make new installers as new versions are released (not likely very often since GoGet.Bat and WGet.Exe aren't expected to have a lot of updates needed).
Feedback. Particularily, does it work? A lack of feedback discussing problems doesn't tell me if there are simply no problems, or if nobody has checked out the relesae. As far as I know, as of this writing, nobody has appreciated the DBFilesClient\CharSections.dbc modification, since nobody but myself has posted about either my prior release (charsect.exe) or stormfrog's initial writing on CharSections.dbc modification.

This tutorial's instructions are basically how I made fully transparent model texture BLP2's, but my attempts at making some other model texture BLP2's with some transparent areas have not been fully successful.

Tools to make things work:
- See my Patchin' Batch file, linked to above.
- Technetium's TGA to BLP2 convertor works well with transparent files and non-transparent loading screens. Partially transparent model textures do not seem to work well, though (with the version as of this writing).
- MoPaQ 2000 (Build 2210): Software discontinued in favor fo the more graphical WinMPQ, but MoPaQ seems to have been able to extract subdirectories better than WinMPQ. WinMPQ's documentation states it doesn't support WinMPQ's /r switch for extraction.
- Working WinMPQ: I found it works. Then downloading WinMPQ from what appears to be WinMPQ's official site resulted in getting an executable about half the size which didn't work on my system. (Maybe I just needed to install some of the support files that the official site linked to?) Source is available from what appears to be WinMPQ's official site.
- BINSUB 1.8 (Download locations 1 2 3 4). (I used to use Howard Best's _Replace.Exe for handling optional CharSections.dbc modifications. As it is no longer used, the local copy of _replace.zip is now in the oldver/ directory.)
- ShadySnake's Succubus texture, and some other skins. Makes it so that the succubus is more in character with that of a succubus, instead of being tamed down to support an ESRB T rating. Succubus2.zip's current home. As far as I can tell, the file is not in line with the rules RapidShare.de has on the site's FAQ, so in advance of it possibly disappearing from there, I'm releasing here a 3-part release (part 1) (part 2) (part 3). These three Rar-format files will combine to make the same Succubus2.zip that can be found from RapidShare.de.
- Part 1 and part 2 for loading screen material.
- 4DOS 7.50 Freeware Release (or alternate location of 4DOS 7.50 Freeware Release, working JP Software that lets GoInst.BTM get properly executed. I imagine, since GoInst.BTM doesn't use full paths, that 4DOS will work okay for this with any standard consumer version of Windows to date, including Windows XP. If not, one may wish to dabble with a trial version of some other JP SOftware, or perhaps the old freeware Take Command (TCMD) 2.02 for 16-bit Windows (which likely won't have superb support for directories (or files) with long (or any non-"8.3" format) names.
